Comprobación del cumplimiento de la lista de verificación de cirugía segura y los eventos adversos provocados por su incumplimiento

Resumen


La seguridad del paciente es fundamental en la atención médica y la lista de verificación de seguridad quirúrgica, establecida por la Organización Mundial de la Salud, es una herramienta clave para garantizar procedimientos seguros; promueve la estandarización de prácticas críticas y una comunicación eficaz dentro del equipo quirúrgico. El objetivo fue evaluar el cumplimiento de la lista de verificación del protocolo de cirugía segura, por medio de la revisión bibliográfica. Este estudio fue de enfoque cualitativo, mediante revisión bibliográfica narrativa. Se realizó la búsqueda en las bases de datos: Cochrane, Google Académico y PubMed/Medline; la selección se basó en criterios de inclusión y exclusión de artículos relacionados con la pregunta de investigación publicados durante los últimos 5 años. Los 51 estudios revisados indican variaciones significativas en el cumplimiento de la lista de verificación de cirugía segura a nivel global, destacando barreras como la carga de trabajo elevada y la falta de formación adecuada. Se observó una relación directa entre la falta de cumplimiento y el aumento de eventos adversos en los entornos quirúrgicos. Se pudo concluir que la implementación efectiva de la lista de verificación de seguridad quirúrgica es esencial para minimizar los eventos adversos en cirugías. Es fundamental mejorar la formación del personal y la cultura organizacional para aumentar la adherencia a esta práctica.
