Efectos de la COVID-19 en la Salud Mental de Niños y Adolescentes: Una Revisión
Resumen
Los cambios que la pandemia de la COVID-19 ha generado en el ser humano aún no se han podido cuantificar. Sin embargo, ya se empiezan a notar ciertas consecuencias tanto físicas como mentales en la población. En la presente revisión bibliográfica se han analizado los síntomas y condiciones que se han generado en la salud mental de los niños y adolescentes menores de 18 años, en el contexto de esta emergencia sanitaria. Se han revisado 52 artículos provenientes de revistas que están indexadas en las bases de datos de mayor relevancia de índole científico y médico actualmente. La depresión, el estrés, la angustia y la ansiedad son los síntomas que más se han identificado. También se tratan temas como el miedo al contagio propio y de familiares, los índices de autolesiones, suicidio y consumo de drogas. Todas son tendencias que aparecen en los estudios analizados y que están a disposición del lector quien también puede generar sus propias conclusiones. De esta manera queda claro que existe la necesidad de generar políticas y procedimientos que busquen proteger la salud mental de los más pequeños del hogar.
