Efectividad de las intervenciones sistémicas en el duelo infantil: una revisión sistemática en población escolar

Resumen


El duelo infantil constituye un desafío para la salud mental, pues la pérdida de un familiar puede generar alteraciones emocionales y en la dinámica familiar. El objetivo de este estudio fue sintetizar la evidencia sobre intervenciones sistémicas y de terapia familiar dirigidas a niños en duelo, analizando su efectividad y alcances.

Se realizó una revisión sistemática en PubMed, SciELO, Scopus y Web of Science, utilizando términos relacionados con duelo, infancia y terapia familiar. Se incluyeron estudios cuantitativos o mixtos que evaluaran intervenciones sistémicas en población infantil. De 1.660 registros iniciales, tras eliminar duplicados y aplicar criterios de selección, se incorporaron 9 artículos en la síntesis final.

La mayoría de los estudios correspondió al Family Bereavement Program (FBP) desarrollado en Estados Unidos, evaluado en ensayos clínicos aleatorizados y seguimientos de hasta 15 años. Sus resultados muestran mejoras en la salud mental infantil, la regulación emocional y las prácticas parentales, además de una menor incidencia de depresión en la adolescencia. En Europa, intervenciones breves centradas en la comunicación familiar reportaron beneficios en la cohesión familiar y la reducción de síntomas emocionales.

En conclusión, los programas basados en enfoques sistémicos y familiares favorecen la adaptación de los niños en duelo. Sin embargo, se requieren más investigaciones en contextos culturales diversos y centradas en el rango de 6 a 12 años.
