Estrategias para implementar y optimizar la atención odontológica a domicilio: Revisión de la literatura

Resumen


Este estudio aborda la atención odontológica a domicilio (AOD) como una alternativa eficaz para mejorar la salud bucal de las personas confinadas a su hogar (PCH). Se realizó una revisión de la literatura en PubMed, SciELO y Medigraphic, incluyendo estudios en español e inglés. Los hallazgos mostraron que la AOD mejora la calidad de vida de estos pacientes, reduciendo las barreras de acceso; sin embargo, se identificaron desafíos como la falta de personal calificado, limitaciones logísticas y percepciones negativas sobre la atención domiciliaria. En conclusión es necesario para la optimización de la AOD la creación de un adecuado marco legal, además de la innovación en técnicas y tecnología.
