Cuidados de enfermería en la intubación y ventilación mecánica: entre la técnica y la humanización

Resumen


La intubación y la ventilación mecánica representan procedimientos críticos en el ámbito hospitalario, en los cuales el rol de enfermería resulta esencial tanto desde la perspectiva técnica como desde el cuidado humanizado. El presente artículo documental tiene como objetivo analizar los cuidados de enfermería implicados en estos procesos, enfatizando la preparación, ejecución y seguimiento del paciente intubado, así como la importancia del acompañamiento emocional y ético. A partir de la revisión bibliográfica de publicaciones científicas entre 2020 y 2025, se identifican las intervenciones más relevantes de enfermería orientadas a garantizar la seguridad del procedimiento, prevenir complicaciones y promover el bienestar integral del paciente. Además, se resalta la necesidad de integrar competencias tecnológicas con una visión humanizada del cuidado, que permita atender no solo la dimensión biológica, sino también la psicológica y social de la persona. Este análisis reafirma que la práctica de enfermería en la intubación y ventilación mecánica debe sostenerse en la evidencia científica, la actualización profesional y el compromiso ético-humanista.
